TraMP partners with CIM Travel Group

The Travel Marketing Professionals network TraMP has partnered with the Chartered Institute of Marketing Travel Group (CIM TG) to support the latter’s mission to promote, enhance and facilitate the knowledge and practice of marketing for inhouse brand and agency teams, media partners, and anyone involved in marketing in the UK travel industry, whatever their speciality or industry vertical.

TraMP was established in 2023 as an inclusive community for those in the profession to meet, support, collaborate, grow, and raise standards in travel marketing. Membership is for anyone in a travel marketing role regardless of seniority, and from any area of the industry - from agents those working with emerging technologies like AI.

Initially, TraMP will work alongside CIM TG Chair Keith Cartwright and President Richard Carrick, and CIM TG’s event organiser Dellar Davies, to relaunch an events programme. This will include CIM TG’s popular ‘Question Time’ panels that give attendees the opportunity to interrogate and learn from marketing and business leaders from across the travel industry and other sectors. A key focus will also be to collaborate on CIM TG’s annual ‘flagship’ event for travel marketers, The Travel Marketing Awards.

Longer term, the partnership will also explore ways they can create a stronger community for travel marketers with a focus on professional development and establishing a qualifications programme, and helping travel marketers to maximise value from their work.

Commenting on the partnership, TraMP founder Andrew Shelton said: “There are close synergies between the objectives of TraMP and CIM TG so this is a good partnership that can only be of benefit to travel marketers of all levels. Our first priority will be to re-establish and modernise the popular CIM TG events programme to get members and marketers out of their offices and into in-person forums where they can be inspired and learn from some of the best.”

CIM TG Chair Keith Cartwright comments: “This partnership is all about helping CIM TG to evolve into the next phase. With our partners at Dellar Davies, events will continue to be our main focus – particularly our flagship event, the annual Travel Marketing Awards. But we know there’s a lot more we can be doing to help travel marketers to develop both themselves and the profession and we’re happy to be collaborating with TraMP to realise those ambitions.”

The first of the relaunched CIM TG’s Question Time sessions will take place during the first quarter of 2025. Details of participants, location and date will be shared with CIM TG and TraMP members via their respective websites, email and social media channels. In the meantime, travel marketers are invited to join TraMP at www.tramp.org.uk.
